Everything you need to know about GoClasstime's timer, stopwatch, world clock, and features.
Click one of the preset time buttons (5 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min, 1 Hour) or use the custom timer dropdown to select any duration from 1–59 minutes. Then press Start to begin the countdown.
Yes. Use the Pause button to stop the timer temporarily, or Stop to reset it back to zero. You can resume a paused timer by clicking Start again.
Yes — GoClasstime is 100% free to use with no sign-up, no account, and no download required. All tools including the timer, stopwatch, world clock, and local time display are free.
GoClasstime works on all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari — on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. No app installation is required.
The wake lock feature (monitor icon in the controls) keeps your screen from dimming or going to sleep while a timer is running. This is useful during study sessions or workouts when you need the display to remain visible. You can toggle it on or off at any time.
Yes. GoClasstime plays an audible alert sound when the countdown reaches zero. The alert plays even if you have switched to another browser tab, so you can keep working without watching the screen.
Click the Stopwatch tab at the top of the page, then press Start to begin counting up from zero. Press Lap to record a split time without stopping the main clock. Press Pause to temporarily stop, and Reset to clear all recorded times.
Yes. Press the Lap button at any point during a stopwatch session to record a split time. The stopwatch continues running while each lap time is saved to a list below the main display.
Click the World Clock tab, then click Add City to add any city from the available list. Each city card shows the live current time for that location, updated every second. Your saved cities are stored in your browser and will still be there when you return.
You can add as many cities as you like. GoClasstime includes over 20 cities covering all major world time zones. Use the Add City button to select from the full list.
The timer, stopwatch, and local time display work as long as your device's system clock is running — they do not require a live internet connection once the page is loaded. The world clock requires connectivity to load the page, but then uses your device's time data.
Click the Fullscreen button in the top-right navigation area. The selected tool expands to fill your entire screen with large, readable digits. This is ideal for classrooms, gyms, presentations, and group settings. Click Go Back Home in the top-left corner to exit fullscreen.
Yes. Connect your laptop to a projector, set the display mode to extend or mirror, open GoClasstime in full browser window, and click Fullscreen. The timer digits will be large and readable from the back of any standard classroom.
Absolutely. GoClasstime was designed with classroom use in mind. Set any duration, click Fullscreen, and the countdown is visible on a projector display from every seat in the room. It works on Chromebooks, Windows, and Mac laptops.
Click the Light Mode / Dark Mode toggle button in the navigation area. Your preference is saved automatically and will be remembered when you return to the site. GoClasstime defaults to dark mode, which is recommended for classroom projection and low-light environments.
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses 25-minute focused work sessions followed by 5-minute breaks. After four sessions, you take a longer 15–30 minute break. GoClasstime's dedicated Pomodoro Timer automates the session and break cycle for you.
GoClasstime includes: a general countdown timer with presets and custom duration, a Pomodoro Timer (25/5 min cycles), an Interval Timer (customizable work/rest rounds), and a Tabata Timer (20 seconds on / 10 seconds off × 8 rounds). Individual duration pages are also available for 1–60 minute countdowns.
Yes. In the Timer tab, use the custom duration dropdown to select any duration from 1 to 59 minutes. For longer or exact times, use the preset buttons (5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes) or visit a dedicated timer page like the 45-minute timer.
Yes. GoClasstime reads your device's system clock, which is typically synchronized to internet time servers and accurate to within milliseconds. The timezone is detected automatically from your device's settings.
Yes. Each timer duration has its own dedicated URL — for example, goclasstime.com/25-minute-timer. Share the link and the recipient will land on that specific timer, pre-configured with the correct duration. Just click Start.
